Many sub-$500 laptops have 4GB or 8GB, which along with a slower disk may make for a frustratingly sluggish Windows laptop practical experience. Also, lots of two-in-types now provide the memory soldered on to the motherboard. Most producers disclose this, but If your RAM style is LPDDR, assume it's soldered and can't be upgraded. Alex W
